Surgical (Extractions)
Most extractions can be performed in the chair in an ordinary visit. There are, however, situations where the procedure is expected to be a real ‘operation’. For example, if there are four un-erupted wisdom teeth, then we would usually recommend that a patient went to see an oral surgeon who does these all day long in a hospital setting. Sometimes we will take out two at a time, but that is if the patient asks for it to be done this way and we agree that it is a suitable case.
Other surgical procedures vary enormously, from changing the shape of a gum line around a tooth, to placing multiple implants and bone augmentation. The way that these are approached varies from patient to patient and as to their sensitivity to costs.
